A. Personal and Special Category Data

Authentication Data: Email address and unique User ID via Firebase Authentication to secure your account.
User-Defined Preference Lists: Personal ingredient monitoring and dietary preference lists created in your profile (Special category health-related data).
Purchase History: Information regarding subscriptions and in-app purchases processed via RevenueCat to verify premium status.

B. Device Permissions and Sensor Data

Camera: Access is required to digitize product labels using OCR technology via mobile_scanner and image_picker.
Photo Gallery: Access is requested to allow you to upload and analyze existing label images.

C. Usage Data and Logs

Device Information: Device model, OS version, and unique identifiers (Advertising ID / IDFA).
Crash Logs: Stability and error data collected via Firebase Crashlytics.
Ad Interaction Data: Data regarding your interactions with advertisements served through Google AdMob.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide digital accessibility by digitizing small-print ingredient lists for better readability.
To match label contents with your personal preferences (standard notifications) or official high-priority allergen lists.
To manage user authentication and account security.
To display personalized advertisements via Google AdMob.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

Google AI (Gemini API): Anonymized text/image data may be transmitted to Google AI services for artificial intelligence analysis and ingredient summarization.
Google Firebase: Used for secure login and app performance monitoring.
Google AdMob: Used for advertising. AdMob may use device identifiers to serve personalized ads.
RevenueCat: Used to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions.

Limitations of Liability Regarding Third Parties

While we carefully select our third-party providers, CheckEt Team cannot guarantee absolute security of data processed by these external entities. By using the App, you acknowledge that:

We are not responsible for data breaches, errors, or unauthorized access resulting from third-party vulnerabilities.
Your interactions with these services are governed by their respective privacy policies.
We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of these third-party services.

4. AI Transparency (2026 Global Standards)

Our App utilizes artificial intelligence algorithms. In accordance with current legal standards (including the EU AI Act):

Reported analysis inaccuracies are reviewed and addressed by our technical team within a target window of 6 hours.
Users have the right to object to results produced solely by automated profiling or AI analysis.
AI-generated outputs are not 100% guaranteed; final responsibility lies with the user to verify the physical packaging.

5. Data Retention and Children's Privacy

Your data is retained for the duration necessary to provide the service. Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 depending on jurisdiction). If we become aware of data collection from a child without verified parental consent, we will delete the information immediately.
